Also during WDIV’s fireworks broadcast, Michelle Fullerton, BCBSM Director of Wellness & Care Management Operations, was interviewed by Local 4 meteorologist, Chuck Gaidica. They talked about the success of last year’s contest by visually demonstrating the weight lost by the six 2009 Biggest Loser: Detroit Edition contestants. A total of 17 colorful buckets were each filled with approximately 16 pounds of sand to represent the 270 pounds lost by last year’s contestants.

Entries are being accepted for this year’s contest at ClickonDetroit.com through July 21. Six lucky finalists will then be selected to compete in the waistline battle of a lifetime. Each contestant will be paired with a Blue Cross health coach for guidance and support in their weight loss. The contest will run Aug. 30 through Nov.16. The winner will be announced live during WDIV’s broadcast of
